Hello Beauties,
Normally I bother the lovely & talented Kari when I want something added to our blog, however today I think I went from "clueless blogger" to the "Hey I signed in successfully" blogger!
Any who!
Over this holiday weekend I had a few slip ups and I chose some crazy unhealthy foods. My emotions have been high and low more times than I can count, so I figured I need an ear to bend and what better place to get out these feelings than our blog! We are all here to keep each other on track and talk healthy, but what about those days or weekends (like this weekend) that aren't so great?
I have had almost 9/10 weeks of true and healthy clean eating. Of course there are the occasional indulgences, but nothing like this weekend. After the 9/10 weeks of healthy choices and a great exercise routine I fell off the wagon. A couple of my family members came in this weekend, one being an excellent chief. I told myself I was going to make healthy choices no matter what. If I wanted any of the cheese dips or blueberry french bread that had been baked I would have a smell or a tiny taste and walk away. I bought healthy items to create my own TIU approved meals, and though I made the "Chicks of the Beach" recipe I still couldn't keep my hands off the ribs. Needless to say I made some very poor choices and I was left feeling incredibly disappointed in myself. I haven't been taking the time to share my meals and hold myself accountable. I feel like I let myself down, my body down, and you ladies down with my weekend binge.
I know this sounds like a cry fest and I dont mean for it to be, but I just needed to let this out! I want to keep on track and keep making healthy choices but this weekend has really been an up hill battle. I NEED a reboot! By reboot I mean I need the junk out of my house and I need to get back on track with my workouts.
It has been a challenging weekend to say the least but all I could think about was how much I wanted to tell you girls! I know even if I haven't been the best example of a Tone It Up girl this weekend I could still look to you ladies for support. You all mean so much to me!
OK, I am now done with my rant :) Love you all
Olivia

Smoothie Sorbet (with Perfect Fit)!
Hello, my beauties! Sending you my love on the Fourth of July! I recently hosted an ice cream social as a "Farewell, Friends!" party for two lovely young men who are moving to Chile. I dove into the wild world of dairy free or dairy alternative ice cream options. And, well.... yuck! But, to be honest, I am from the holy land of ice cream, Vermont. What up, Ben & Jerry?
This afternoon, my wonderful boyfriend, Justin, and I decided to make a smoothie for lunch. First, we tossed all of our favorite frozen fruits in with two scoops of Perfect Fit. We looked at the blender and thought, does this really need any ice cubes?
Just a reminder, Justin and I live in Boulder so our elevation is much higher than anyone in NYC or Boston!
This is what we used for our Smoothie Sorbet!
- 1 to 1.5 cups almond milk
We tossed all these delicious ingredients into our Ninja blender and voila--a delicious dairy free ice cream alternative. Have leftovers? I put mine in a plastic to-go container and popped it into our freezer. I am thinking breakfast tomorrow!
Of course, add whatever fruits you love, even some chocolate if you would like! Maybe chia seeds? I'll certainly be adding watermelon next time.
Happy Fourth of July, Bombshell Beauties! I am so grateful for you every day.
Warmly,
Without any ice cubes, we tossed in some almond milk and turned that puppy on! Initially, it was super dry so we added some more almond milk and some coconut milk yogurt in as well.
This, although it helped with the dryness, just made our summer time sweet treat concoction very, very thick.
"It looks like ice cream!" I yelled in excitement. I, literally, scooped myself a bowl full and dove in. Didn't stop till the bowl was empty.
By messing around with our blender, Justin and I created a delicious dairy free ice cream with a punch of protein.
- 1 cup So Delicious Coconut Milk Yogurt
- 1.5 cups frozen peaches
- 1 frozen banana
- 1.5 cups frozen berries
- 2 scoops Perfect Fit

Hey everyone! My name is Kari. I am 23 almost 24 (next week!) I am originally from Reno, Nevada. I lived in San Diego for 2 years and LOVED IT there! But I now live in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am a creative girl who is passionate about interior and graphic design. I absolutely LOVE health, nutrition, and fitness. I've played sports all through middle and high school, volleyball and basketball being my absolute favs! I go to school for design and work full time. I have had diabetes since I was 11 years old and have always had to pay attention to the types of food I ate and have had to take shots every time I eat any carbohydrates. I'll have it for the rest of my life but learning about nutrition with the Tone It Up team has helped me to have better control of my blood sugars and overall health! I found Tone It Up in September 2013 and have never felt better! I've loved getting in shape with the team and have loved meeting new girls!

I am a Christian, wife to a great husband and mom to two precious boys! I love staying fit and eating healthy. I enjoy the simple things in life like reading, cooking and spending time with my sweet family. My favorite TIU recipe is the Perfect Fit Pancakes of course! I've got an obsession for putting peanut butter and honey on top of them. :) My favorite TIU Bikini Series routine is the Bikini Arms. It does the body good! The goals I have set for myself revolve around having two babies in the last two years. It's time for me to get back to the fit I used to be and the feeling of confidence I used to have! The Tone It Up community has such a unique take on fitness and networking! It's the perfect way to stay fit while inspiring and feeling inspired by other women! I feel so blessed to be apart of this community and to be involved with such amazing partners! LOVE TIU

Hi everyone! My name is Kayla Bumgarner. I'm 25 and I live in Richmond,VA. I'm currently enrolled in Dental Hygiene school and will graduate in the spring of 2015. I've always had a passion for working with the public but when I came across dentistry I fell in love. I'm a giving type of person and I love the chance to give back by becoming a dental hygienist. I've been a dental assistant for 4 years and decided to work on a more independent level and become a provider. My husband and I have been married for 2.5 years. We were blessed and able to get married in Disney World. It was the most magical time I've ever had. I have 4 kitties, yes 4!! They're all different personality wise but they all crack me up. This year, I discovered Tone it Up by watching "Toned Up" on Bravo. I immediately fell in love with Karena and Katrina. They're the perfect idea of best friends and they have a real passion for what they do for all of us. I feel like they've become my "friends" because I follow and watch them on a daily basis. I've always been a picky eater and during this bikini series I've been able to stretch my taste buds and try new things :) My goals as of now are to: continue working out daily, eat better, graduate dental hygiene school, find a great job, and travel to California before we decide to start a family of our own.

This summer, I am starting a new journey as an Education Instructor at Walt Disney World.I found Tone It Up in February 2014. I fell in love right away! It has made such a positive impact on my life. K&K, the workouts, the community, it's all amazing! I love that all TIU girls constantly support one another and are so motivating and inspiring! My goals are to continue to get in some kind of physical activity/workout on a daily basis, eat LCG and tone-up! I recently fell in love with running and I eventually want to run the Disney Princess Half-Marathon. I know with hard work, Tone It Up, and support from the community, I will be able to do it!!Twitter & Instagram: tiu_alisa

My name is Olivia Funke (Funky). I am 26 and have recently gotten married and live in St. Louis until the Winter when I graduate and move to Arkansas (Husband was promoted and had to move). I became a member of Tone It Up January of 2014. I had seen Toned Up on Bravo and fell in love with K&K! I began the program in the middle of the Love your body series and I haven’t been the same since. I watch what I put in my body and try to workout regularly. It wasn’t until the Bikini Series that I met all of my TIU sister’s and really understood what the TIU community was about! Now I am inspired and motivated everyday by those amazing women! I also love this program because I would like to have kids someday, but I want to be healthy before I start trying!Besides TIU I enjoy running 5k’s, which I would like to make a 10K and then eventually a half marathon! I am a book nerd and I LOVE to cook! Fun fact: I am Dyslectic & OCD (What a combination!) Green is my favorite color and 3 is my lucky number!

My name is Jennifer Edwards. I am 29 years old and married with no kids. I am an Assistant General Manager at a hotel but have a Certificate in Medical Office Systems (currently looking for a job in this field). I live with my husband, my dad and my brother...and yes I am the only girl! Yikes! We all decided to do the roommate thing to save money while we're all looking to buy houses. That's great and all but it makes it very difficult to eat healthy. We all put into the grocery fund, shop for everyone out of it, and on a budget! That should help explain why you girls may see me Instagram a pic of ribs! That, and the fact that I LOVE LOVE LOVE to cook! :)--My Tone It Up StoryI discovered TIU on laurenconrad.com around March 2013 (when I weighed 175 lbs). I started to follow TIU on all the social media sites and it helped motivate me to start paying attention to what I was eating and my lack of exercise. By the end of 2013, I had lost 15 lbs and found out that the Love Your Body Series was about to start! I don't think that was a coincidence ;) Now, thanks to Tone It Up, I am down to 145 lbs!!--Current GoalsBootycalls every morning.Push myself harder during workouts.Build my confidence! --The photo "DCN3965" is me at my heaviest (175 lbs) on my wedding day July 23, 2011.The photo "image" is from January 28, 2014 and my most recent photo...doing what I love... Hey! I’m Leah.
I’m 31 years old. Born and raised
in Indiana. I have a Bachelors
degree in Communications. Some of
my favorite things are reading, trying new things, spending time with
friends and family, camping, bonfires, working out and spending all day at the
beach or pool. My family moved to FL in
2009. I love the salt life here and will
never leave. Been married to my best
friend for 10 years. He’s my rock. We have two beautiful kids who continue to
amaze me every day! I also have a 5 year
old boxer named Maci. She’s rotten, but
I love her too. I joined Tone It Up in
2013 wanting to learn how to eat better and exercise more and teach my children
to eat better. This community, along
with Karena and Katrina, has changed me so much. I have met some amazing women along the
way. They each inspire and motivate me
to keep going with this lifestyle. Since
I started following the nutrition plan in April 2014 I have lost 10 lbs! I went from 136 to 126! My goals from here are to continue with the
plan and workouts and tone up a little more.
I love the changes I can see and feel inside and out thanks to our
amazing trainers!

It's never easy. I learned that early in my life and for that I
am grateful because I am always trying my hardest. I'm a Green Mountain girl
discovering the Rockies on my snowboard, in my sneakers, or with a fly fishing
rod in my hands. Colorful socks, Christmas lights, and sending people letters
make me happy. However, meeting new people & developing relationships is
really what makes me tick.Krystle Sabio

Hi! I'm Krystle Sabio. I'm 31 years old and I live in Santa Clarita, CA. I work as a Speech Language Pathologist in a high school and private setting. I live with my boyfriend Blake, and our three dogs, Layla and Bruno (the pugs), and the newest addition Zelda, a Belgian Malinois. 6 weeks out of the year, Blake's beautiful daughter Esmay stays with us and we look forward to those visits oh so much! She loves her puppies!
I first started with Tone It Up with the LYB series this year! I wanted to learn to how to eat better so I could feel better on the inside to help me perform better as a runner. I've completed a handful of 5ks, 10ks, 15 half marathons, and I've completed the LA Marathon in 2012 and 2013. My ultimate goal with being an TIU girl was to be a faster runner. Not only have I met that goal, but I've met so many awesome ladies through the TIU community along the way! Everyone is amazing and encouraging and that is what I love most about being part of TIU! My current goal is to complete the Long Beach Sprint Triathlon coming up in August. Swimming is my weakness and therefore open water swimming terrifies me!
I've recently had the opportunity to meet our trainers! Such down to earth women and so glad I'm with Tone It Up! I thanked Katrina for my booty (haha) and I got to tell Karena how she inspired me to sign up for a TRI and got some advice as well! What an amazing opportunity to get to chat with them! So excited for all the awesome TIU things to come!
